Deodorizing Ugg Boots & Slippers

It's unavoidable that your favorite Ugg boots, and certainly Ugg slippers, will eventually become a bit, um, smelly.....just because they rarely get a break from your sweaty feet! Instead of investing in expensive deodorant insoles or powders, you can get great results by using a cheap old fashioned mixture of two products that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard - baking soda and corn starch. Simply mix equal parts of the two products thoroughly together, and sprinkle them generously inside your boots (or slippers), first making sure they are totally dry. Let them sit for a few hours or overnight, then shake them out. Usually giving your Uggs a few good whacks with the palm of your hand (upside down) helps clear out any powder that remains. If it's stubborn, you can use the brush or wand attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove any residue. Tip: You can add a pinch of your favorite scented talcum powder to the baking soda & corn starch mixture. The mixture will have the same deodorizing effect, but the faint pleasant scent of your talcum powder will remain.
